Srinagar, February 21 (KNO) : Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) chief Yasin Malik on Thursday questioned the government order of withdrawing his security, saying what has government withdrawn when he never ever enjoyed any government security. The government on Wednesday said that the security of eighteen separatist leaders including Yasin Malik has been withdrawn following Pulwama attack. According to KNO, while addressing a press conference at his Abi Guzar office here, Srinagar, Malik said that he had turned down the repeated offers by the police to provide him security since 1996. “I was offered security time and again since 1996. First, I was offered when Moulvi Mushtaq was killed, then when Fazl Haq Qureshi was attacked, then when Moulvi Showkat was killed. Every time, I turned down the offers and gave in writing to the police that I don’t need any cover and that life and death was upto God.” He said claiming that he enjoyed security was utter dishonesty on the part of the government. Malik said on the notification issued by the governor administration last night. Now when I didn’t accept any security for the last 30 years, whey a malicious campaign is being run that my cover has been withdrawn,” he said. “I am surprised when I never had any security cover, what has the government withdrawn from me.” He said if the move is taken to build pressure on the resistance leaders by attributing wrong things with them, “let it be clear that no such step would succeed.” “The Kashmir struggle is our romance and love and we are not afraid of our death. Our romance with this struggle will continue,” Malik said. The JKLF chief while replying to a query about the attacks on Kashmiri students outside said that targeting Kashmiri students in various parts of India and forcing them to flee have serious ramifications on the psyche of Kashmir’s young lot. “What if those forced to flee back to Kashmir and the young boys who are watching the treatment meted out to Kashmiri students outside would pick up guns tomorrow?” he said. “Who will be responsible for if these boys will turn militants tomorrow.”(KNO)
